The Missouri State women's golf team shot 302-306--608 Monday (Oct. 17) and has a five-shot lead entering Tuesday's final round of the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial in Springfield, Mo.
The Bears were led by junior Emma Clegg, who is tied for fourth after posting 76-75--151. Senior Kelsey Welber and junior Hermine Greyling are right behind, tied for fifth with 152 totals; Welber fired 76-76, while Greyling had 75-77.
Freshman Megan Thompson is tied for 14th with teammate Emily Potts, who's playing as an individual. Thompson shot 76-78--154, while Potts carded 74-80--154. Senior Catherine Dolan had 75-82--157 and is tied for 20th.
Another pair of Bears saw action as individuals as freshman Renske van Lent, playing in her first collegiate tournament, is 46th after recording 84-82--166, and senior Emily Matthews shot 83-87--170 and is tied for 51st. Drury's Katrina Choate leads the medalist race after carding 73-76--149.
In the team race, the Bears are five clear of UMKC, which posted 304-309--613, and 13 up on Houston Baptist, which had 319-302--621. Indiana State is fourth at 626, followed by South Dakota State and Drury (628), Bradley (639), Drake (640), Stephen F. Austin (646), Creighton (662) and South Dakota (677).
